13.
And indeed, afflictions (upakleśa) of bodies, and the pleasant and unpleasant experiences (priyāpriye) for the mind (manas) which are caused by anger (krodha) and delusion (moha), are understood through illustrations and the authority of sacred texts (āgama). These (afflictions) are appeased by medicines, by sacred incantations (mantra), and by expiations (prāyaścitta).
