महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-30, verse-30

सा तु कन्या यथाशापं नारदं तं ददर्श ह ।
पाणिग्रहणमन्त्राणां प्रयोगादेव वानरम् ॥३०॥
30. sā tu kanyā yathāśāpaṁ nāradaṁ taṁ dadarśa ha ,
pāṇigrahaṇamantrāṇāṁ prayogādeva vānaram.

30. Following the curse, that maiden indeed saw Nārada, who, by the mere application of the marriage (pāṇigrahaṇa) mantras, had taken the form of a monkey.
