ऋतुः संवत्सरस्तिथ्यः शीतोष्णे च प्रियाप्रिये ।
यथातीतानि पश्यन्ति तादृशः सत्त्वसंक्षयः ॥३८॥

38. ṛtuḥ saṁvatsarastithyaḥ śītoṣṇe ca priyāpriye ,

38. Seasons, years, lunar days, cold and heat, and pleasant and unpleasant experiences—just as these are observed to pass, such is the inevitable decay of beings (sattva).
