महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-78, verse-7

देवयान्युवाच ।
यद्येतदेवं शर्मिष्ठे न मन्युर्विद्यते मम ।
अपत्यं यदि ते लब्धं ज्येष्ठाच्छ्रेष्ठाच्च वै द्विजात् ॥७॥
7. devayānyuvāca ,
yadyetadevaṁ śarmiṣṭhe na manyurvidyate mama ,
apatyaṁ yadi te labdhaṁ jyeṣṭhācchreṣṭhācca vai dvijāt.
7. devayānī uvāca yadi etat evam śarmiṣṭhe na manyuḥ vidyate
mama apatyam yadi te labdham jyeṣṭhāt śreṣṭhāt ca vai dvijāt
7. Devayānī said: 'If this is truly the case, Śarmiṣṭhā, then I have no anger. That is, if you have obtained offspring from the eldest and most excellent Brahmin.'
