महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-46, verse-5

तपस्विनमतीवाथ तं मुनिप्रवरं नृप ।
जितेन्द्रियं विशुद्धं च स्थितं कर्मण्यथाद्भुते ॥५॥
5. tapasvinamatīvātha taṁ munipravaraṁ nṛpa ,
jitendriyaṁ viśuddhaṁ ca sthitaṁ karmaṇyathādbhute.
5. tapasvinam atīva atha tam munipravaram nṛpa
jitendriyam viśuddham ca sthitam karmaṇi atha adbhute
5. O King (Janamejaya), (Śṛṅgī heard how your father had insulted) that sage (Śamīka) who was exceedingly devout, the foremost among ascetics, one who had conquered his senses, pure, and moreover, engaged in astonishing spiritual practices.
