महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-46, verse-33

सूत उवाच ।
मन्त्रिणां तु वचः श्रुत्वा स राजा जनमेजयः ।
पर्यतप्यत दुःखार्तः प्रत्यपिंषत्करे करम् ॥३३॥
33. sūta uvāca ,
mantriṇāṁ tu vacaḥ śrutvā sa rājā janamejayaḥ ,
paryatapyata duḥkhārtaḥ pratyapiṁṣatkare karam.
33. sūtaḥ uvāca mantriṇām tu vacaḥ śrutvā saḥ rājā janamejayaḥ
paryatapyata duḥkhārtaḥ pratyapiṃṣat kare karam
33. Sūta said: However, having heard the words of the ministers, King Janamejaya, afflicted by sorrow, became greatly distressed and clasped his hands together in anguish.
