For those who possess perfect understanding (samyak-bodha), this latent impression (vāsanā) is not a true latent impression (vāsanā) at all, for it has been consumed by the fire of knowledge (jñāna). What true seed-nature, indeed, can a burnt seed possess, compared to one that remains unburnt?
