अस्मदादिस्वरूपेण संविद्यत्रोदिता स्वयम् ।
तथासौ तत्र संपन्ना तथाकारानुभूतितः ॥ ४० ॥

Where consciousness (saṃvit) itself arises in the form of 'I' and other similar expressions of self, it becomes identified with that particular form there, owing to the experience of its appearance.
