Indeed, in the absence of one, the realization of both (duality and unity, or seer and seen) does not occur here. When duality (dvitva), unity (aikya), the state of being a perceiver (draṣṭṛtva), and the state of being perceived (dṛśyatva) are all destroyed, only the Existent (sat) remains.
