योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-17, verse-16

भीषयत्यपि धीरं मामन्धयत्यपि सेक्षणम् ।
खेदयत्यपि सानन्दं तृष्णाकृष्णेव शर्वरी ॥ १६ ॥
bhīṣayatyapi dhīraṃ māmandhayatyapi sekṣaṇam ,
khedayatyapi sānandaṃ tṛṣṇākṛṣṇeva śarvarī 16
16. bhīṣayati api dhīram mām andhayati api sekṣaṇam
khedayati api sānandam tṛṣṇā kṛṣṇā iva śarvarī
16. Craving, like a dark (kṛṣṇā) night (śarvarī), frightens even a steadfast person like me, blinds even me who possesses vision, and brings sorrow even to me who is joyful.
