वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-29, verse-27

स तु माया बलाद् रक्षः संग्रामे नाभ्यदृश्यत ।
किरमाणः शरौघेन महेन्द्रममितौजसं ॥२७॥
27. sa tu māyā balād rakṣaḥ saṃgrāme nābhyadṛśyata ,
kiramāṇaḥ śaraughena mahendramamitaujasaṃ.

kiramāṇaḥ śaraugheṇa mahendram amitaujasam
27. saḥ tu rakṣaḥ māyā balāt amitaujasam mahendram

27. But that demon, by the power of his illusion (māyā), was not visible in battle, even as he showered Mahendra, who possessed immeasurable might, with a torrent of arrows.
