वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-29, verse-23

स तां प्रविश्य मायां तु दत्तां गोपतिना पुरा ।
अदृश्यः सर्वभूतानां तत् सैन्यं समवाकिरत् ॥२३॥
23. sa tāṃ praviśya māyāṃ tu dattāṃ gopatinā purā ,
adṛśyaḥ sarvabhūtānāṃ tat sainyaṃ samavākirat.
23. sa tām praviśya māyām tu dattām gopatinā purā
adṛśyaḥ sarvabhūtānām tat sainyam samavākirat
23. saḥ purā gopatinā dattām tām māyām tu praviśya
sarvabhūtānām adṛśyaḥ tat sainyam samavākirat
23. Indeed, having resorted to that illusion (māyā), which was formerly granted to him by Gopati, he became invisible to all beings and showered that army [with weapons].
