वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-13, verse-1

स वीक्षमाणस्तत्रस्थो मार्गमाणश्च मैथिलीम् ।
अवेक्षमाणश्च महीं सर्वां तामन्ववैक्षत ॥१॥
1. sa vīkṣamāṇastatrastho mārgamāṇaśca maithilīm ,
avekṣamāṇaśca mahīṃ sarvāṃ tāmanvavaikṣata.

avekṣamāṇaḥ ca mahīm sarvām tām anvavaikṣata

1. Standing there, he surveyed the entire land (or area) thoroughly while searching for Maithilī (Sītā) and observing everything.
