मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
स्वरोचिरेतदाकर्ण्य जातोद्वेगः खगेरितम् ।
आदाय भार्यास्तपसे ययावन्यत्तपोवनम् ॥४१॥

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Hearing this, which was spoken by the bird, Svaroci became agitated. He took his wives and went to another hermitage (tapovana) for asceticism (tapas).
