मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-29, verse-11

हन्तकारं मनुष्याश्च पिबन्ति सततं स्तनम् ।
एवमाप्याययत्येषा वत्स धेनुस्त्रयीमयी ॥११॥
11. hantakāraṃ manuṣyāśca pibanti satataṃ stanam .
evamāpyāyayatyeṣā vatsa dhenustrayīmayī.
11. hantakāram manuṣyāḥ ca pibanti satatam stanam
| evam āpyāyayati eṣā vatsa dhenuḥ trayīmayī
11. Humans constantly partake of its breast by making the 'hanta' offering (when giving food). Thus, O child, this cow, which embodies the three Vedas (trayī), truly nourishes them.
