मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-26, verse-32

वयोभिः कृमिकीटैश्च नर एवोपजीव्यते ।
तस्मात् तन्वड्गि पुत्रं यत्कार्यं क्षत्रयोनिभिः ॥३२॥
32. vayobhiḥ kṛmikīṭaiśca nara evopajīvyate .
tasmāt tanvaḍgi putraṃ yatkāryaṃ kṣatrayonibhiḥ.
32. vayobhiḥ kṛmikīṭaiḥ ca naraḥ eva upajīvyate
tasmāt tanvaṅgi putram yat kāryam kṣatrayonibhiḥ
32. He is also subsisted upon by birds, worms, and insects. Therefore, O slender-bodied one (tanvaṅgi), concerning a son, what duty is to be performed by those of kṣatriya birth [is as follows...]
