त्वत्कृतानां तथा नाम्नां शृणु भूप निरर्थताम् ॥१६॥

16. madālasovāca .
kalpaneyaṃ mahārāja kṛtā sā vyāvahāriko .
tvatkṛtānāṃ tathā nāmnāṃ śṛṇu bhūpa nirarthatām.

madālasā uvāca kalpanā iyam mahārāja kṛtā sā vyāvahārikī

Madālasā replied: 'O great king, this is a convention that was adopted for practical purposes. Now, O king, listen also to the meaninglessness of the names you yourself have given.'
