मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-26, verse-2

यथायथं बलं लेभे यथा लेभे मतिं पितुः ।
तथा तथात्मबोधञ्च सोऽवापन्मातृभाषितैः ॥२॥
2. yathāyathaṃ balaṃ lebhe yathā lebhe matiṃ pituḥ .
tathā tathātmabodhañca so'vāpanmātṛbhāṣitaiḥ.
2. yathāyatham balam lebhe yathā lebhe matim pituḥ
tathā tathā ātma-bodham ca saḥ avāpat mātṛbhāṣitaiḥ
2. As he gradually gained strength and acquired his father's intellect, so too he attained self-knowledge (ātman) through the words spoken by his mother.
