मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-26, verse-22

भूतैर्भूतानि मृद्यन्ते अमूर्तो मृद्यते कथम् ।
क्रोधादीनां पृथग्भावात् कल्पनेयं निरर्थिका ॥२२॥
22. bhūtairbhūtāni mṛdyante amūrto mṛdyate katham .
krodhādīnāṃ pṛthagbhāvāt kalpaneyaṃ nirarthikā.
22. bhūtaiḥ bhūtāni mṛdyante amūrtaḥ mṛdyate katham
krodha-ādīnām pṛthak-bhāvāt kalpanā iyam nirarthikā
22. Living beings are crushed by other living beings; how can that which is formless (amūrta) be crushed? Due to the separate existence of anger and other such qualities, this conception is meaningless.
