मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-26, verse-14

तच्छ्रुत्वा नाम पुत्रस्य कृतं मात्रा महीपतिः ।
अलर्क इत्यसम्बद्धं प्रहस्येदमथाब्रवीत् ॥१४॥
14. tacchrutvā nāma putrasya kṛtaṃ mātrā mahīpatiḥ .
alarka ityasambaddhaṃ prahasyedamathābravīt.

alarka iti asambaddhaṃ prahasya idam atha abravīt
14. Upon hearing the name 'Alarka' that his mother had given to their son, the king, finding it unsuitable, laughed and then spoke these words.
