महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-37, verse-34

पश्यतां तत्र वीराणामहन्यत महद्बलम् ।
हन्यमानमपश्यंश्च निश्चेष्टाः स्म पराक्रमे ॥३४॥
34. paśyatāṁ tatra vīrāṇāmahanyata mahadbalam ,
hanyamānamapaśyaṁśca niśceṣṭāḥ sma parākrame.

hanyamānam apaśyan ca niśceṣṭāḥ sma parākrame

34. There, as the heroes watched, a great force was being slaughtered. And seeing it being cut down, they remained motionless in their effort.
