महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-29, verse-31

श्वभ्रे ते पततां चक्रमिति मे ब्राह्मणोऽवदत् ।
युध्यमानस्य संग्रामे प्राप्तस्यैकायने भयम् ॥३१॥
31. śvabhre te patatāṁ cakramiti me brāhmaṇo'vadat ,
yudhyamānasya saṁgrāme prāptasyaikāyane bhayam.

yudhyamānasya saṃgrāme prāptasya ekāyane bhayam

31. A Brahmin (brāhmaṇa) told me, 'Let your chariot wheel fall into a pit!' For one fighting in battle, who has reached a desperate situation (ekāyana), fear arises.
