महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-6, verse-12

कर्णो हि समरे शक्तो जेतुं देवान्सवासवान् ।
किमु पाण्डुसुतान्युद्धे हीनवीर्यपराक्रमान् ॥१२॥
12. karṇo hi samare śakto jetuṁ devānsavāsavān ,
kimu pāṇḍusutānyuddhe hīnavīryaparākramān.
12. karṇaḥ hi samare śaktaḥ jetum devān sa-vāsavān
kimu pāṇḍu-sutān yuddhe hīna-vīrya-parākramān
12. hi karṇaḥ samare sa-vāsavān devān jetum śaktaḥ
kimu yuddhe hīna-vīrya-parākramān pāṇḍu-sutān
12. Indeed, in battle, Karṇa is capable of conquering even the gods, including Indra. How much more easily then can he conquer the sons of Pāṇḍu in battle, who possess diminished valor and strength?
