महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-29, verse-39

न च द्वितीयं व्यसृजत्कुञ्जराश्वनरेषु सः ।
पृथगेकशरारुग्णा निपेतुस्ते गतासवः ॥३९॥
39. na ca dvitīyaṁ vyasṛjatkuñjarāśvanareṣu saḥ ,
pṛthagekaśarārugṇā nipetuste gatāsavaḥ.

pṛthak ekaśarārugṇāḥ nipetuḥ te gatāsavaḥ

39. And he (Arjuna) did not need to release a second arrow upon elephants, horses, or men; for each of them, struck by a single arrow, fell down lifeless.
