kauravya,
yat ca te anujasya duḥśāsanasya vai paśyataḥ,
hatam bhīṣmam apaśyam; duṣkaram karma kurvāṇam,
devaiḥ api savāsavaiḥ saṅgrāme avadhyakalpam.

30.
And, O descendant of Kuru (kauravya), I saw Bhishma killed, even as your younger brother Duḥśāsana watched. Bhishma was performing an arduous feat (karma duṣkaram), virtually impossible to slay (avadhyakalpam) in battle (saṅgrāma), even for the gods (devas) with Indra.
