महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-88, verse-38

भृशं क्रोधेन चाविष्टो रथस्थो राक्षसाधिपः ।
चिक्षेप निशितांस्तीक्ष्णाञ्शरानाशीविषोपमान् ।
बिभिदुस्ते महाराज शल्यं युद्धविशारदम् ॥३८॥
38. bhṛśaṁ krodhena cāviṣṭo rathastho rākṣasādhipaḥ ,
cikṣepa niśitāṁstīkṣṇāñśarānāśīviṣopamān ,
bibhiduste mahārāja śalyaṁ yuddhaviśāradam.
38. bhṛśaṃ krodhena ca āviṣṭaḥ rathasthaḥ
rākṣasādhipaḥ cikṣepa niśitān
tīkṣṇān śarān āśīviṣopamān bibhiduḥ
te mahārāja śalyaṃ yuddhaviśāradam
38. mahārāja,
ca bhṛśaṃ krodhena āviṣṭaḥ rathasthaḥ rākṣasādhipaḥ āśīviṣopamān niśitān tīkṣṇān śarān cikṣepa.
te śarāḥ yuddhaviśāradam śalyaṃ bibhiduḥ.
38. And greatly overcome by fury, the chief of the rākṣasas, remaining on his chariot, hurled sharp, keen arrows resembling venomous snakes. O great king, those (arrows) pierced Śalya, who was highly skilled in battle.
