महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-69, verse-1

संजय उवाच ।
विराटोऽथ त्रिभिर्बाणैर्भीष्ममार्छन्महारथम् ।
विव्याध तुरगांश्चास्य त्रिभिर्बाणैर्महारथः ॥१॥
1. saṁjaya uvāca ,
virāṭo'tha tribhirbāṇairbhīṣmamārchanmahāratham ,
vivyādha turagāṁścāsya tribhirbāṇairmahārathaḥ.
1. saṃjaya uvāca virāṭaḥ atha tribhiḥ bāṇaiḥ bhīṣmam ārcchat
mahāratham vivyādha turagān ca asya tribhiḥ bāṇaiḥ mahārathaḥ
1. saṃjaya uvāca: atha mahārathaḥ virāṭaḥ tribhiḥ bāṇaiḥ mahāratham bhīṣmam ārcchat ca asya turagān tribhiḥ bāṇaiḥ vivyādha.
1. Sanjaya said: Then Virata, a great charioteer, struck the great charioteer Bhishma with three arrows. He also pierced Bhishma's horses with three (more) arrows.
