महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-3, verse-41

पक्वापक्वेति सुभृशं वावाश्यन्ते वयांसि च ।
निलीयन्ते ध्वजाग्रेषु क्षयाय पृथिवीक्षिताम् ॥४१॥
41. pakvāpakveti subhṛśaṁ vāvāśyante vayāṁsi ca ,
nilīyante dhvajāgreṣu kṣayāya pṛthivīkṣitām.

41. And birds are loudly screaming "Ripe! Unripe!" (or "cooked! uncooked!") and perching on the tops of flags, portending the destruction of the rulers of the earth (pṛthivīkṣitām).
