महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-166, verse-3

न ह्यहं नाद्य विक्रम्य स्थविरोऽपि शिशोस्तव ।
युद्धश्रद्धां रणे छिन्द्यां जीवितस्य च सूतज ॥३॥
3. na hyahaṁ nādya vikramya sthaviro'pi śiśostava ,
yuddhaśraddhāṁ raṇe chindyāṁ jīvitasya ca sūtaja.
3. na hi aham na adya vikramya sthaviraḥ api śiśoḥ tava
| yuddhaśraddhām raṇe chindyām jīvitasya ca sūtaja
3. sūtaja hi aham sthaviraḥ api tava śiśoḥ na adya
vikramya raṇe yuddhaśraddhām ca jīvitasya chindyām
3. Indeed, O son of a charioteer, I, though old, will not today, *by not exerting my prowess* against you who are but a youth, destroy your enthusiasm (śraddhā) for battle or your life in this conflict.
