महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-147, verse-37

ततः प्रतिष्ठिते रामे वीरोऽयं याचितो मया ।
यावद्रामकथा वीर भवेल्लोकेषु शत्रुहन् ।
तावज्जीवेयमित्येवं तथास्त्विति च सोऽब्रवीत् ॥३७॥
37. tataḥ pratiṣṭhite rāme vīro'yaṁ yācito mayā ,
yāvadrāmakathā vīra bhavellokeṣu śatruhan ,
tāvajjīveyamityevaṁ tathāstviti ca so'bravīt.
37. tataḥ pratiṣṭhite rāme vīraḥ ayam
yācitaḥ mayā yāvat rāmakathā vīra
bhavet lokeṣu śatruhan tāvat jīveyam
iti evam tathā astu iti ca saḥ abravīt
37. After Rama (Rāma) was established on his throne, I made this request to that hero: "O hero, O destroyer of enemies, as long as the narrative of Rama (Rāmakathā) exists in the worlds, may I live for that duration." And he replied, "So be it."
