महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-58, verse-6

एतानि पुरुषव्याघ्र साधुभ्यो देहि नित्यदा ।
दानानि हि नरं पापान्मोक्षयन्ति न संशयः ॥६॥
6. etāni puruṣavyāghra sādhubhyo dehi nityadā ,
dānāni hi naraṁ pāpānmokṣayanti na saṁśayaḥ.

6. O tiger among men, always bestow these gifts upon the virtuous. For, without doubt, acts of giving (dāna) indeed liberate a person from their sins.
