महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-58, verse-3

भीष्म उवाच ।
अभयं सर्वभूतेभ्यो व्यसने चाप्यनुग्रहम् ।
यच्चाभिलषितं दद्यात्तृषितायाभियाचते ॥३॥
3. bhīṣma uvāca ,
abhayaṁ sarvabhūtebhyo vyasane cāpyanugraham ,
yaccābhilaṣitaṁ dadyāttṛṣitāyābhiyācate.
3. bhīṣma uvāca abhayam sarvabhūtebhyaḥ vyasane ca api
anugraham yat ca abhilaṣitam dadyāt tṛṣitāya abhiyācate
3. bhīṣma uvāca sarvabhūtebhyaḥ abhayam vyasane ca api
anugraham tṛṣitāya abhiyācate ca yat abhilaṣitam dadyāt
3. Bhishma said: "One should grant safety to all beings, and also compassion in times of distress, and give whatever is desired to a thirsty petitioner."
