महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-58, verse-19

यथाग्निहोत्रं सुहुतं सायं प्रातर्द्विजातिना ।
तथा भवति दत्तं वै द्विजेभ्योऽथ कृतात्मना ॥१९॥
19. yathāgnihotraṁ suhutaṁ sāyaṁ prātardvijātinā ,
tathā bhavati dattaṁ vai dvijebhyo'tha kṛtātmanā.
19. yathā agnihotram suhutam sāyam prātar dvijātinā
tathā bhavati dattam vai dvijebhyaḥ atha kṛtātmanā
19. yathā dvijātinā sāyam prātar suhutam agnihotram,
tathā kṛtātmanā dvijebhyaḥ dattam vai atha bhavati
19. Just as the daily Vedic fire ritual (agnihotra), when well-offered morning and evening by a twice-born (dvija), becomes truly beneficial, so too is what is given to twice-borns (dvija) by a person of disciplined mind (kṛtātman).
