The ṛtviks (Vedic ritual priests), purohitas (chief priests), and ācāryas (spiritual teachers) are indeed gentle upholders of the Veda (brahman). For, O twice-born (dvija), even the martial power (kṣatra) and its brilliance (tejas) certainly diminish when they come into contact with (their spiritual influence).
