महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-324, verse-4

ऋषय ऊचुः ।
बीजैर्यज्ञेषु यष्टव्यमिति वै वैदिकी श्रुतिः ।
अजसंज्ञानि बीजानि छागं न घ्नन्तुमर्हथ ॥४॥
4. ṛṣaya ūcuḥ ,
bījairyajñeṣu yaṣṭavyamiti vai vaidikī śrutiḥ ,
ajasaṁjñāni bījāni chāgaṁ na ghnantumarhatha.
4. ṛṣayaḥ ūcuḥ bījaiḥ yajñeṣu yaṣṭavyam iti vai vaidikī
śrutiḥ ajasaṃjñāni bījāni chāgam na ghnantum arhatha

4. The sages said: "Indeed, the Vedic revelation (śruti) states that one should perform (Vedic rituals (yajña)) with seeds. The seeds are designated as 'aja'; you ought not to kill a goat!"
