ऋषय ऊचुः ।
बीजैर्यज्ञेषु यष्टव्यमिति वै वैदिकी श्रुतिः ।
अजसंज्ञानि बीजानि छागं न घ्नन्तुमर्हथ ॥४॥

The sages said: "Indeed, the Vedic revelation (śruti) states that one should perform (Vedic rituals (yajña)) with seeds. The seeds are designated as 'aja'; you ought not to kill a goat!"
