भीष्म उवाच ।
देवानां तु मतं ज्ञात्वा वसुना पक्षसंश्रयात् ।
छागेनाजेन यष्टव्यमेवमुक्तं वचस्तदा ॥१३॥

devānāṁ tu mataṁ jñātvā vasunā pakṣasaṁśrayāt ,
chāgenājena yaṣṭavyamevamuktaṁ vacastadā.

13. Bhishma said: 'Then, Vasu, having understood the opinion of the gods and upholding that view, declared that a Vedic ritual (yajña) should be performed with a goat, specifically a male goat. Such was the statement made at that time.'
