महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-324, verse-37

एवं तेनापि कौन्तेय वाग्दोषाद्देवताज्ञया ।
प्राप्ता गतिरयज्वार्हा द्विजशापान्महात्मना ॥३७॥
37. evaṁ tenāpi kaunteya vāgdoṣāddevatājñayā ,
prāptā gatirayajvārhā dvijaśāpānmahātmanā.

37. kaunteya,
evam tena api mahātmanā vāgdoṣāt devatājñayā dvijaśāpāt ayajvārha gatiḥ prāptā.
37. Thus, O son of Kuntī, even that great-souled one (mahātmanā), by the command of the deities and due to a Brahmin's curse stemming from a fault of speech, attained a state (gati) that is unworthy of performers of Vedic rituals (yajña).
