From such well-performed actions (dharma), the ancestors obtained all their desires. The earth yielded crops without cultivation, and plants grew abundantly through blessings. However, those (ancestors) did not perceive any fruit (phala) in rituals (yajña) or in their own inner selves (ātman) at all.
