महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-142, verse-6

पतिधर्मरता साध्वी प्राणेभ्योऽपि गरीयसी ।
सा हि श्रान्तं क्षुधार्तं च जानीते मां तपस्विनी ॥६॥
6. patidharmaratā sādhvī prāṇebhyo'pi garīyasī ,
sā hi śrāntaṁ kṣudhārtaṁ ca jānīte māṁ tapasvinī.
6. pati-dharma-ratā sādhvī prāṇebhyaḥ api garīyasī sā
hi śrāntam kṣudhā-ārtam ca jānīte mām tapasvinī
6. She, the virtuous and chaste wife, devoted to her husband's natural law (dharma), is dearer even than life itself. For that suffering woman truly knows me, how I am tired and hungry.
