महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-23, verse-38

अग्नीनाहृत्य विधिवच्चितां प्रज्वाल्य सर्वशः ।
द्रोणमाधाय गायन्ति त्रीणि सामानि सामगाः ॥३८॥
38. agnīnāhṛtya vidhivaccitāṁ prajvālya sarvaśaḥ ,
droṇamādhāya gāyanti trīṇi sāmāni sāmagāḥ.
38. agnīn āhṛtya vidhivat citām prajjvālya sarvaśaḥ
droṇam ādhāya gāyanti trīṇi sāmāni sāmagāḥ
38. sāmagāḥ vidhivat agnīn āhṛtya,
citām sarvaśaḥ prajjvālya,
droṇam ādhāya trīṇi sāmāni gāyanti
38. Having ritually collected the fires and entirely kindled the pyre, and having placed Droṇa upon it, the chanters of the Sāman (Sāma Veda priests) sing three Sāman chants.
