यथा मनः प्रसरति तथा तत्प्रसृतं मनः ॥ २३ ॥

yathā manaḥ bhrame svapne manorājye mithyājñāne kathā-śrutau prasarati,

Just as the mind (manas) extends itself in delusion, in dreams, in daydreams, in erroneous knowledge, and in hearing stories, so too does that mind (manas) expand.
