पुत्रस्येह दलोदरे द्युति तरत्तारं चिरं संस्मृतं हंसस्यांसविनुन्ननालगहने संचारिणा भो मया ।
शुक्लासारमिवाब्जिनी विकिरति स्वं वारिबिन्दूत्करं मध्याह्ने शिशिरं विकासि सहसा मूर्घ्नि स्फुटं दृश्यताम् ॥ ४४ ॥

bho! haṃsasya aṃsavinunnanālagahane saṃcāriṇā mayā,
iha putrasya dalodare tarattāraṃ dyuti ciram saṃsmṛtam.
abjinī svam vāribindūtkaram śuklāsāram iva vikirati; (tat) madhyāhne sahāsā mūrdhani sphuṭam śiśiram विकासि (च) dṛśyatām.

O! By me, who once moved among the dense lotus stalks pushed aside by a swan's shoulder, the star-like radiance within the petal-womb of a young lotus has long been cherished in memory. Look now! Let its own cool and blossoming multitude of water drops, scattered by the lotus plant (abjinī) like a white shower, be clearly seen suddenly at midday, resting upon its head.
