यन्मनाड्मननीं शक्तिं धत्ते तन्मन उच्यते ।

15. That by which the faculty of cogitation (mananī śakti) is sustained, that is called the mind (manas). (It is) like the illusion of feathers in the sky, or the perception of a whirlpool in water.
