भ्रमस्य जागतस्यास्य जातस्याकाशवर्णवत् ।
अपुनःस्मरणं मन्ये साधो विस्मरणं वरम् ॥ २ ॥

Śrī Vālmīki said: "O good one (sādhu)! I believe that forgetting is better than non-recollection for this worldly illusion (bhrama) that has arisen, like a color in the sky."
