वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-10, verse-16

भगवन्प्राणिनां नित्यं नान्यत्र मरणाद्भयम् ।
नास्ति मृत्युसमः शत्रुरमरत्वमतो वृणे ॥१६॥
16. bhagavanprāṇināṃ nityaṃ nānyatra maraṇādbhayam ,
nāsti mṛtyusamaḥ śatruramaratvamato vṛṇe.

| na asti mṛtyusamaḥ śatruḥ amaratvam ataḥ vṛṇe
16. bhagavan,
prāṇinām nityam bhayam maraṇāt eva,

16. O worshipful Lord (bhagavan), for living beings, there is always fear only from death, and from nothing else. There is no enemy equal to death. Therefore, I request immortality.
