Venus (śukra) and Moon (indu) gain a quarter strength (aṅghrimitam balam) in even signs (samabhāṃśe). The other planets (anye) gain a quarter strength in odd signs (viṣame). Planets (kheṭāḥ) situated in angular houses (kendra) and so forth (ādi), receive full, half, and quarter strength, respectively (kramāt).
