बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-27, verse-10

अथ पक्षबलं वक्ष्ये सूर्ये चन्द्राद् विशोध्य च ।
षड्भाधिके विशोध्यार्काद् भागीकृत्त्य त्रिभिर्भजेत् ॥१०॥
10. atha pakṣabalaṃ vakṣye sūrye candrād viśodhya ca .

ṣaḍ-bhāga-adhike viśodhya arkāt bhāgī-kṛtya tribhiḥ bhajet
10. Next, I will explain lunar fortnight (pakṣa-balam) strength. Calculate the difference by subtracting the Sun's longitude from the Moon's longitude. If this difference exceeds six zodiacal signs (180 degrees), then subtract it from the Sun's longitude (meaning, take the reverse difference to get the shorter arc). Convert this result into degrees and then divide it by three.
