बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-27, verse-18

यद्रवेरायनं वीर्यं चेष्टाख्यं तावदेव हि ।
विधोः पक्षबलं यावत् तावच्चेष्टाबलं स्मृतम् ॥१८॥
18. yadraverāyanaṃ vīryaṃ ceṣṭākhyaṃ tāvadeva hi .
vidhoḥ pakṣabalaṃ yāvat tāvacceṣṭābalaṃ smṛtam.
18. yat raveḥ āyanam vīryam ceṣṭā-ākhyam tāvat eva hi
| vidhoḥ pakṣa-balam yāvat tāvat ceṣṭā-balam smṛtam
18. The declinational strength (ayana vīryam) of the Sun, which is termed motional (ceṣṭā), is precisely that much. Similarly, the motional strength (ceṣṭābala) of the Moon is considered to be equivalent to its lunar phase strength (pakṣabala).
