मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततः स राक्षसस्तस्याः प्रविश्यान्तः स्वमायया ।
भक्षयामास दौः शील्यं निजशक्त्या नृपाज्ञया ॥३२॥

32. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
tataḥ sa rākṣasastasyāḥ praviśyāntaḥ svamāyayā .
bhakṣayāmāsa dauḥ śīlyaṃ nijaśaktyā nṛpājñayā.
tataḥ sa rākṣasastasyāḥ praviśyāntaḥ svamāyayā .

Mārkaṇḍeya said: "Then, that demon, having entered her (body) through his own power of illusion (māyā), consumed her bad character by his inherent energy (śakti) in accordance with the king's command."
