मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-70, verse-26

वैकल्यं तस्य विप्रस्य राक्षसोऽप्याह मे यथा ।
अपत्नीकतया सोऽहं सङ्कटं महदास्थितः ॥२६॥
26. vaikalyaṃ tasya viprasya rākṣaso'pyāha me yathā .
apatnīkatayā so'haṃ saṅkaṭaṃ mahadāsthitaḥ.
26. vaikalyam tasya viprasya rākṣasaḥ api āha me yathā
apatnīkatayā saḥ aham saṅkaṭam mahat āsthitaḥ
26. (The king continued to think): 'Just as the demon also told me about that Brahmin's flaw, I myself have fallen into great distress due to being wifeless.'
